    i think what it is that confuses many about beyonce's version, is that the two are about two very different things. People often hear des'ree's version first, so they understand the song is about a woman deeply in love with a man that she has lost. Her version is about heartache. Than once people hear beyonce's version tey are confused because hers is about a woman in love with her current partner... no heartache. Her version is kind of...happy. Des'ree's version is more meeningfull...

    I agree. Beyonce doesn't have the emotional range. It does not sound sincere. It is similar to whitney houston singing "I will always love you". She made the song famous but when Dolly sang it it sounds sincere. Whit and Bey change the tone of the song and it corrupts it.

    personally when i listen to beyonces version altho its good, doesnt get to me as much as this one. i believe the difference between both is one has much more feeling to it. beyonces confuses me, not sure if its a pop song or a slow romantic song, it changes often throughout.

    actually I do know what tone and pitches are, but clearly you don't know what opinions are. I said her version is interesting but I feel that beyonce's mezzo soprano voice fits this alot better..I find this "original" version extremely boring. This woman is extremely talented but I don't think her low mellow voice fits the theme, and lyrics of this type of song.
