im proud that she stayed in egypt and didnt give in to the israelis.
but how the arab world treated her with suspicion because of her jewish parentage (i say this as an arab myself) was DISGUSTING and disgraceful.
and ppl who think her converting religon prooves "how patriotic" she was.
should be ashamed.
we should respect ALL religions. she shouldnt have had to change religion just so wouldnt be seen as a traitor

But i thought her brothers Mounir and (there was another one also working in music)continued to live in Egypt. Anyway she had the chance to be 10000000 times richer if she had gone to Israel but she didnt

so what? religion dont matter.the music does.

Actually her father turned to Islam , and since the declaration of Israel as an independant state they made very generous offers for her to live in Israel but she refused , She participated in the fund raising & charity campaigns organised by Gamal Abdel Nasser (Naser) president of Egypt at the time.
