I never said Luis Miguel is greater, and I know he didn't come up with the song, he's more of a crooner I think. I simply said that I like his version too...maybe I should've replaced version with cover. I'm a fan of Los Panchos as well, so I wouldn't insult them. I don't know much about Eydie Gormé, but judging from what I heard here, I like her and I hope to listen to more of her work.

You have to understand Los Panchos and Eyie Gorme are pioneers... they are The originals. Eveything after that cannot be greater. Luis Miguel is good but not great.

I used to listen to this music back in 66, living in El, Paso Tx. Juarez was like my backyard, going back and forth with my Mom , and Dad, buying cigarettes, sugar, and of course, Bacardi Rum SSHHH my Dad would say, when we crossed the border...great memories...
