    Elquicko, No. They don't "try" to snap each other's necks. They just try to defeat the other buck. Usually by one forfeiting. However sometimes the deer get locked together and sometimes they do die. While I'm sure the winner doesn't mind snapping his opponent's neck it is not what they're actively seeking to do.
