  • In these days of ...

In these days of economic disaster brought on by naked greed this song should be the anthem of America.

  • I'm a HUGE Keith ...

I'm a HUGE Keith Carradine fan! Personally, I prefer his original version to all the others. The man wrote the song right the first time!

  • KC rocks!!! This ...

KC rocks!!! This man is so multi-talented it's SICK. Why'd they change the darn lyric? That's so crazy! I'm a Buddhist so personally I was thrilled to see his original version be "less secular". The "my bible and The Bill of Rights" was the part of the song that made my brain go, "Oh ok...it's only for Christians. I'll stop listening now." Declare Yourself....sorry but changing KC's lyric was an unwise move.

  • SORRY that I ...

SORRY that I over-explained my point below. I should have said what I meant right the first time instead of hollering about it 5 times. The multiple artist version would have been superior to Keith's version because of the great singers had that change in the lyrics altering the intent of the song not been made by a a couple of the participants. Sorry I went on about it so much.

  • At the very least ...

At the very least they could have done the main website's mass presentation of several singers in one video preserve the original lyric instead of turning it into a religious treatise mockery of the original song. If they want to "change the lyrics" they can do that on all the "remixes" instead of the main version on the Born Again American website. Carradine is not meaning he carries around a "bible" other than the Bill of Rights and the people at that site changed that on their main site video

  • TYPO, sorry - I ...

TYPO, sorry - I meant to quote that redo as "my Bible and the Bill of Rights", which is a dumb rewrite that changes the original meaning of the song's title. And the original version by Carradine is heard here with the song title's intended meaning preserved. Changing the song's lyrics and meaning in the other version is not the sort of "difference" that people need to "come together" to make.

  • The reason I am ...

The reason I am angry is that they instead of keeping the original lyrics, the people "coming together" to make a difference rewrote a key lyric. The Carradine version is the original, not that redone thing, and it maintains the original meaning of the song. If people are going to "come together" to make a difference, they can at least not rewrite the meaning of the song from what Carradine originally wrote.

  • I got the POINT but ...

I got the POINT but they rewrote it dumbass, to mean fundamentalist christian meanings of "the bible and my bill of rights" as though it is about religion and america when in fact the point of the freaking song is not about being "born again" literally but about caring about the country. "My bible IS the bill of rights" is what he originally said.

  • The whole point of ...

The whole point of the Born Again American project is for people to come together as one and try to make a difference. It's not just about Keith Carradine singing alone. It's about a bunch of people lending there voice. Have you seen the website? It wants people to make there own lyrics. The final version with "fifty people" is a non-secular and patriotic meaning. And, what's a "fundie" meaning?
