I'm not pissing on the UK, I love our UK brethren, but it comes down to what really happened. Germany had the upperhand in the war, and the added military from the US, is just what the allies needed.

Soviets were losing horribly, France was conquered, but the US were the ones who ultimately liberated it.

You fool. Britain declared war on germany when they invaded poland. that started ww2. The u.s.a. didn't do S**t untill germany also declared war on them. which was about 2 years into the war. it was britain who freed german occupied france and poland. it was the british who faced nightly air bombings.
