Ontario Southland Rwy 180-506 have a short train south of Guelph, Ontario. The train is rockin and rollin on the jointed rail. The RS18 is now out of service because of crankshaft failure. Plans are to replace the prime mover, but only funds become available. 10-3-2005

It has more to do ...
It has more to do with the sectional rail, than the weight of the rail. With there being more jointed areas, the track has more room for movement. Causing slight kinks and bowing.

Theres no way thats ...
Theres no way thats 60ib rail. I've ridden in the cab of a GE B23-7 and 2 GP9s, and they are rockin heavily on 85ib rail. i dont know if they maintain their tracks better than the railroad i've ridden on but there is no way thats 60. it has to be 90, or 100 ib rail.
