  • Another great video ...

Another great video, Dr. Z! Do you think you could make one about cleaning the A-coil in a split system? This is the type I have. It's in an equipment room and I'm not sure how to get it clean without getting water all over the inside of my house. Thanks a bunch!

I just cleaned my friends "window shaker" and it was filthy... Noticed a difference as soon as we re-installed it and turned it on.
We also didnt have coil cleaner but"Spray-nine" seemed to work not too bad.

  • I wasn't able to ...

I wasn't able to find coil cleaner at Home Depot or Lowes. You might want to find a Johnstone Supply or any other air conditioning supply store. They will usually sell to you as long as you have cash. Ask for Alki-Foam or any other alkaline based coil cleaner. You'll want to mix it with water according to the instructions. If for some weird reason they don't want your business, find an A/C tech that will sell you some. I wish you luck on your search.

I really don't know what temperature your steam cleaner is set at. Just to be on the safe side, you might not want to use the steam cleaner.
