The SOEG railroad company in Southeastern Germany still runs its Narrow Gauge Steam trains between Zittau, Olbersdorf, Bertsdorf, Kurort Jonsdorf and Oybin with historic narrow gauge steam locomotives.

This narrow gauge railroad line should have been demolished before the fall of the Berlin Wall because of the coal lying underneath a part of the area the narrow gauge steam trains operate on ... but after 1989 these plans have been cancelled. Fortunately!

Die Zittauer Schmalspurbahn der SOEG (Sächsisch-Oberlausitzer Eisenbahn Gesellschaft) nutzt für ihr Schmalspurbahn-Netz immer noch Dampfloks für den regulären Einsenbahn-Verkehr zwischen Zittau, Olbersdorf, Bertsdorf, Kurort Jonsdorf und Oybin.
