    He's actually playing a B major scale over the B. He mentions that he's using a major pentatonic over it. Then for the 4 chord he goes back to Bm.

    Modal interchange is what you want to look into to get a better idea on this type of soloing idea.

    Can anyone clear this up for me? He is playing the B major scale over the I chord which is a B, but since he is in the scale of B major is he playing the relative minor scale because it looks like he is playing the B minor scale? How does that work so I stay in the right key? Thanks
