    It was actually released on Macs first (Id's argument was that it was a smaller market to beta-test, but Carmack is partial to OS X anyway due to having used its NeXT roots to design DOOM), and that snippet is very old now

    I'm sorry, but until you've used both extensively (and it's very clear you haven't), your opinion is not valid. I have used both VERY extensively (I'm a developer), and there is no comparison. Slightly extra cost is more than justified by time savings in administration

    honestly, a pc is just as simple to use and gives you more bang for your buck. a mac is really trendy and is hyped, but dont buy into it. they are both computers that will do the jobs most consumers want them to do without fail. the biggest difference however, is that a PC is easier to modify and fix. Plus it is a hell of a lot cheaper

    you posted that 7 months ago, and CrossOver Mac still cant run all Windows software... though it is much better than it used to be. I do use it quite a bit, its nice, but WINE and WINE based products like CrossOver still are not 100%.

    year old post but still... PowerPC chips in Macs were much better than anything Intel had, at the time that Apple berated Intel chips. Intel has better chips now because the once superior PPC chips stayed stagnant and got passed up.
