I can't stand how no western nations are not jumping in at this oppertunity for democracy. Especially America. The same people who declared invading Iraq, Affghanistan to provide freedom democracy to liberate your people. Here is your chance to prove that you were not lieing. Show the world you actually care about these values and don't just use them as excuses.

  • That these ...

That these demonstrations are led by a handful of Buddhist monks exposes its reactionary nature. The social role of Buddhism is determined by the basic principles of its dogmatics. It's striking that the BBC provide coverage to the events in Burma but ignored the uprising in France last year. During the protest movement against electoral fraud, there were three million people on the streets of Mexico. Imperialist media are now talking of "revolution" in Myanmar but denied such a movement was taking place in Mexico.

The situation in Myanmar can best be described as a failed CIA coup whose aims are to restore colonial rule. In a hypocritical manner, the ruling clique in Washington imposed sanctions on Myanmar because of the failure of this coup.
