    You have take this cartoons in their historical context folks. Japan had bombed Pearl Harbour and forced the US into a war most Americans wanted nothing to do with. As such the mood was decidedly anti- Japanese. Very much like the way the Brits felt the Germans.

    Yes- these cartoons ARE offensive by our modern standards- but compared to the propaganda the Nazis used to demonise Jews- these cartoons are really pretty mild.
