  • This is why I enjoy ...

This is why I enjoy old films. It actually let the audience draw their own conclusions. The films we sees today are somewhat plain. It doesn't resonate any thoughts.

It's kind of sad how much Clegg wanted Miranda. He actually made his points but in such tragic ways.

    he is SUCH A CREEPER!!!!

but I don't think butterfly collecting is creepy in itself. After all, you preserve the butterflies after they die. you don't necessarily have to kill them.

But the thing that creeped me out the most about this movie is that his thoughts on THE CATCHER IN THE RYE are the same as mine.....

  • He has enormous ...

He has enormous pride on his collection, and resentment about his child years. She is proud of her life choices, and her capacity to appreciate beauty, she's a well off art-student...(so?) Oh, it's a real lost Chess game!!

  • right, you notice ...

right, you notice the collector refuses to let his victim release that live butterfly from the jar. that situation means that the collector will not release his victim from the locked cellar.

  • All the dialogue ...

All the dialogue about the Butterfly collection had a resonance of the Holocaust. She realises how useless are her words to this little Hitler, and what her fate may be.
    A very powerful metaphor!
