Based on the best-selling novel by John Fowles, The Collector tells the story of a quiet London bank clerk Freddie (Terence Stamp) whose butterfly collecting hobby takes a sinister twist when he kidnaps a most unusual specimen, a beautiful woman named Miranda Grey (Samantha Eggar).
Rent it from Netflix. I did a few days ago.

It's kind of sad how much Clegg wanted Miranda. He actually made his points but in such tragic ways.
dont know if its Terence Stamp's look in this movie but he kinda reminds me of that creepy guy from Ghostship ...you know the guy who wanted everyone dead and get the gold? dont you see the resemblance?

but I don't think butterfly collecting is creepy in itself. After all, you preserve the butterflies after they die. you don't necessarily have to kill them.
But the thing that creeped me out the most about this movie is that his thoughts on THE CATCHER IN THE RYE are the same as mine.....
Clegg is a more careful planner than Wolfgang Prikopil

She is proud of her life choices, and her capacity to appreciate beauty, she's a well off art-student...(so?) Oh, it's a real lost Chess game!!

A very powerful metaphor!
