Actually, going limp is a means of protecting yourself. Resisting a throw or joint lock, if it's executed correctly, adds more force to your falls and puts more stress on your joints, making them much more dangerous. You need to practice against resistant opponents, but under controlled circumstances.

You are right about many aikido clubs though, that don't understand the difference between a compliant and a nonresistant uke. These guys have it right for the most part though.

Looks fun but I wouldn't enjoy being uke.

I think the reason there isn't more Aikido like this is the number of injuries that'll be caused. Even small things like a badly bent back finger takes a month or so to be right again.

I'm always amazed at how in Aikido the opponent automatically goes limp and offers no resistance as soon as you touch them when performing a complex maneuver--surprisingly sometimes they even synchronize with your actions thereby hastening their demise. THIS IS "THE" ULTIMATE MARTIAL ART. And you know it's perfect for street defense since this is how real fighting works.

Good point, I've seen "traditional" Aikido work in real situations.
To me this looks much like Ueshiba's Aikido, whats the difference?

it actually looks pretty good , but why call it real aikido , as if Ueshibas was not real ?

the better fighter would win.. street aikido if it was for real you would break S**t or make people tap out.
