    1. does it work with ANY disc.
    2. does what common household item can replace the metal polisher because if i remember what cd i needed to fix, i'd rather use something you probably or possibly already have. (yes i really don't have metal polisher.) i heard that some toothpaste can be used, but if it is like the aquafresh stuff where it has that acid stuff, it won't work. Am i right?

    Hey tinkernut: the best fine buffing agent I ever used was Maguires Mirror Glaze formulae #7. Light wax, light abrasive. Most any powder is some grit of abrasive. so you can try baking soda and flour. But not sugar or scouring powder. sugar disolves and will stick and burn. scouring powder will distroy fiberglass and paint so I wouldn't use it on optical plastic.
