What will happen is when you have a safer car, reckless people will want to drive less safely because they know their car will keep them safe. Only problem is that is not true in some circumstances. Driving off a overpass, that thing won't save you. xD

Your legs won't be a problem because when you instantly decelerate from 70mph to 0mph your internal organs will be hamburger meat... in any car.

Larger vehicles are safer because of the additional momentum that they carry due to their greater mass. It's simple kinematics. From this you can assume that your large SUV will push the other vehicle out of the way before it infact deforms to the point of being fatal to the driver/passengers.

I have seen pictures of a smart car that went head on with an 18 wheeler and it wasn't preety. The driver of the smart car was literally riped in two. So after seeing those pitures I am never going to drive in a smart car.

haha, well. I drive a 1978 Mini Clubman. Im 16, i love it. Its a small car with less safety features than a drivable lounge, but i love it. I dont think the point of not buying this car is because you dont wanna die in a crash. Have fun and enjoy driving, be more concerned with how you drive to keep safe rather than how safe your car is.

The big car have more damage than the small one^^ But if it hit a bigger one, this last one will move is wipper just to remove the little thing on the windshield (LOL !!!)

What the crap? People are afraid to drive the smart because if you get into an accident, YOU COULD DIE? How does that make this a bad car--isn't that pretty much how it works with any other vehicle?

Maybe if it was crashing into the cement wall but not into that little thing, I would be more safe in my truck than in that rinky dink little thing if I got into an accident with that, most likely I would survive or would be hardly hurt....
