Rocky Dennis was an American boy who suffered from craniodiaphyseal dysplasia, also known as lionitis. It's a rare bone disorder that causes calcium to build up in the skull, deforming the face, making the eyesight and hearing very poor and eventually destroying the brain. There are only a few recorded cases of that disease. People afflicted with it usually die in their childhood, but Rocky did almost reach his seventeenth birthday.
