  • Don't get me wrong. ...

Don't get me wrong. The 'tron sound isn't bad and if I had it, I might not have bothered with sampling it. The TR was a new offering at the time. Little did i know that it would have a short run before the M50. I think the TR didn't sell well. I think Korg put too much stock in the Triton and thought it would sustain the TR. I guess they also thought that sampling was going to be more important than a touch-screen. Anyway, your tape-to-digital sounds like an interesting idea. I might try it.

  • ...I did something ...

...I did something similar with flutes recorded backwards, you can hear it on my video "Di' Son Ant-Sa Harah"... at the end of the song it plays on by itself... BTW that "song" is just a weird track I made to practice a few things but I ended up liking it a lot. Thanks for the comment.

  • Thanks... The sound ...

Thanks... The sound isnt important to me in a keyboard. But I do use a LOT of the "tron" sound. I have SampleTron... and I also like to create my own with virtual synths. For example I once recorded a part using a 3 violin section on Miroslav Philharmonic then recorded it to a cassette on a boombox, and I then re-recorded played from the boombox and using a mic to put it back in Logic, and a few plug-in fx to get the sound I wanted...

  • If Mellotron is ...

If Mellotron is important to you, you might want to consider a Korg TR (replaced by M50) with sample board installed. That and "Mike Pinder Presents Mellotron" CD and you will have a Mellotron Monster! "Krimson Strings" will pale in comparison. It'll cost you less as well.
