2008 Kawasaki ZX-14: First Ride.

In an effort to keep pace with the Suzuki's new Hayabusa, Kawasaki engineers have tweaked the '08 ZX-14 to produce more power while meeting stringent Euro 3 emissions standards. According to Kawasaki, the whole goal of the mid-cycle refreshing was to enhance the bottom end.

  • You're right, lol I ...

You're right, lol I knew the name but couldn't think of it for the life of me.

I'd love to get everyone to everyone get MARPAT. A Forest, Desert, Arctic, and Urban. It's all you need. This "one camo for all environments" idea just S**ks .

And I know. All on the same side. Especially when SHTF.

Can't argue that man the AF "ABU"'s are alright i don't dislike em, but S**t the Marines uni's are bad ass!

i just don't see why they don't make one standard uniform for all branches instead of blowin all the tax dollars on the developement of all these new ones.

plus one team one fight! despite the whole rivalry between the branches

none the less i love the AF so far i've only been in for a couple years now.

  • ah you lucky ...

ah you lucky bastard. I'd kill to be in the military... or rather... I would have 7 years ago. Now it's like "meh". Looked in to the Navy and Army but I weighed too much. No biggy, ended up going into the fire department for a number of years till I got bored and left of my own free will (something I couldn't have done in the army). Though I'm sorry to say I don't care for the new Airforce BDU... too asian looking (like tiger stripe). Then again the ACU is total crap. Only USMC has good gear now

  • well i'm only 21 ...

well i'm only 21 and i live in omaha, NE but going to be moving soon cuz i'm in the Air Force. i don't remember exactly the coverage i have but it's full coverage obviously

i think a $500 deduct and 15G medical coverage, with a couple speeding tickets that didn't really affect me i guess

but i got some crazy quotes for like 10G's a year, basically telling me no way we're going to cover you

  • 600 a year IS good, ...

600 a year IS good, but for what sort of coverage? And where Are you?

I'm around Baltimore/DC so it's a major metro area (more people with bikes, and more accidents/deaths). While I'm 27 I've only been riding street for 2 years now, which I know affects it. Plus I'm looking at what equates to a 1400cc inline 4 lol.

But yeah, progressive (who I pay $500 for my SV650) and geico both wanted $3500 for the CBR1000, and $4000 for the ZX14. And I have a clean record lol. That's insane.

right on man can't go wrong with either one! i personally like my 08 R6 cuz i'm a smaller guy and it feels great underneath me.

and ya i got some outragous ins. quotes when i checked around, but i ended up payin like 600 a year. not bad at all!

  • Well my first ...

Well my first choice was a CBR1000RR, and I came to that choice after much research (smoothness of throttle response, mass centralization, lowered center of gravity, lighter wet weight), and wanted to avoid the hypersports. But the ZX is actually more comfy (I like to ride 2-3 hours non-stop), and believe it or not the insurance is lower. For 100/300/100 $500ded I'm looking at $1200/year for the CBR, and like $987 for the ZX-14 (State Farm). Only $800 if I get 25/50/25 $500ded.

  • man i would really ...

man i would really check into the 1000's, they are a lot more nimble with more than enough power and in my opinion more fun to ride.

but hey it's whatever you thing looks/feels the best!

  • Picking up either ...

Picking up either an 08 or 09 some time after new years. Was between this and the CBR1000rr. Everyone said this was better for longer rides. Best of all, I won't be confused for one of the busa crowd (if not for a negative connotation of busa riders being idiots on crack, I'd get one)

Sweet... but the 14 busted the whole '08 top speed treatie (including liter bikes)...by 1 - 2 mph!!! And it takes the slowest tp reach there too!!! But comfort wise, the 14 is tops! Long live Kawasaki! Let the good times roll... :)
