Orthodox Christians attend the Holy Fire ceremony in Jerusalem and Bethlehem, to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The faithful filled the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Church of the Nativity to see the flames of the Holy Fire.

The ceremony takes place a day before the celebration of Orthodox Easter and is considered to be a miracle that occurs every year.

Seconds after the Orthodox patriarch lit the candle, the fire spread rapidly throughout the congregation, with worshippers lighting one another's candles.

Worshippers believe, a sun beam shone through the window in the ceiling of the church and lit a lamp placed in Christ's tomb.
