This is the scene where Mina Harker (Winona Ryder) is giving into Dracula (Gary Oldman). She says the line, "Take me away from all this death!", which is my favorite line in the movie. The score of this film is really good, and the music is used very well in this scene. They are interrupted by Abraham van Helsing (Anthony Hopkins) and his crew (Keanu Reeves, Cary Elwes, Bill Campbell, and Richard E. Grant).

  • What I really find ...

What I really find interesting is that Winona Ryder essentially plays this same part in 1994's Reality Bites. Think about it, she turns her back on the more crowd friendly choice, here Keanu Reeves, there Ben Stiller, and chooses the vampire, here literally Dracula, there Ethan Hawke the emotional vampire. Haha...

For me, this an adaptation that stands on itself. It may be an adaptation from a book, but it is so diferent from it, and yet so good. It is like blade runner to do androids dream of electric sheep.

I may be the first one online to point this out, but anyone notice the significance of the costumes Mina & Vlad are wearing here (what kind of clothes is he wearing, please)? As Van Helsing stated earlier about there being 'darknesses & lights' and how Mina is one of the lights (making Vlad one of the darknesses), not only are the costumes representative of the light & darkness, but the same colors a bride & groom don in marriage, which is what's taking place here thru mutual blood drinking.

Yeah, the movie was very different from the book. Coppola inserted a love story in the movie and made it seem like Mina was a reincarnated version of Elisabeta (the wife of Dracula who killed herself earlier in the movie).
