Tank and engine animation of the BMW Hydrogen 7 car.
There are currently several hundred hydrogen vehicles in operation throughout the world. Soon it will number several thousand. There are also many hydrogen filling stations in operation throughout the world.
This particular vehicle is an internal combustion engine that can change between hydrogen or petrol at the flick of a switch. There are currently around a hundred of this model and they have been leased out to high profile users.

Well, either's good, you can get all the parts in the US for hydrogen or electric. Hydrogen's easier to implement in existing vehicles and engines. Parts obtainable to where it's basically a do-it yourselfer. Installing electric engine in existing car still takes some good physical conversion work. Not easy for the average person unless you're a mechanic or able to work with cars well enough to pull engine out of your car and put in another one and then some....

Problem with electric car is all the batteries, after awhile they need replaced and usage is relied on more the battery than anything else which drives up expense, and the environmental dumping procedures and accident safety. Lots of litium ion and lead acid batteries. Several laptops worth of batteries.

By DarcBird [Affiliate User] 1200069364 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAntimatter would be an excellent source of propulsion, if it wasn't highly volatile. However, it's still a better idea than Hydrogen cars.

Still a good deal, but electric cars are equivalent to 10 cents a gallon, using all of the electricity for direct power.

The theory is 286 to 798 miles to the gallon bro, you go on vacation, come back and not even fill tank up once. Store water up front in only the generator itself and a radiator reserve bottle, compared to size of gas tank in back of car it's huge difference. You don't use as much water creating hydrogen as you burn gasoline for combustion, I've heard of people leaving car running 5 to 7 hours, coming back and tank still full.
By KnightChatX [Affiliate User] 1199186454 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWell the thing about hydrogen is it makes more hydrogen gas with less water, you actually should get more bang for your buck, 9 cents a gallon, and the water in generator would take a longtime before it would run down, we'd be talking liters not gallons. By tito1621 [Affiliate User] 1198908470 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeregardless of how deep this is debated, the united states doesn't manufacture any of this. independence from foreign oil doesn't mean anything when you're still buying all of their products to make your Hydrogen kit. 90% of parts to an electric car can be ordered directly from american factories, and produce far more power per KWH than the aftermath of the hydrogen production line.
By nonsoundflux [Affiliate User] 1198869484 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveDouble check your table of elements Knight, Hydrogen is 4x more volatile than gasoline because it expands when injected (much like NOS), however the BTU's are 1/3rd that of quality petroleum products. I was originally comparing Hydrogen cars to the simplicity, speed, & efficiency of electric cars.
