  • Hi Sarah, becoming ...

Hi Sarah, becoming aware of emotional abuse is the first step to healing from it, solving it and/or getting rid of it. So, I'm glad you are on your way to emotional healing now.

  • My children and I, ...

My children and I, are victims of emotional abuse. For many years I put up with it, believing it was all my fault. We escaped 10 months ago. We are all healing. We are all happier now.

My staying with him ensured the sexual and physical abuse of my children. As soon as my daughter disclosed, I made sure he never came back. I hate that I have lived in this fog of abuse for so long, and that my babies were immersed in it too. I am thankful I found the strength to put a stop to it.

  • I have read almost ...

I have read almost every book on the subject of emotional abuse. According to these authors, licensed therapists to PHDs, this abuse is predominantly male on female. It can happen anywhere there is a inequality of balance of power. It's so important for women to understand what this is, until it has a name it is only "rudeness" or "psychosis" or "socially ineptness", until you realize it's actually "abuse" it has no ability to be fully understood. Thank you for posting this video.

  • The other thing- ...

The other thing- and I just watched your videos- is keep doing creative things like videos and keeping a journal about your feelings or whatever comes to your mind at that moment. It may seem silly, but it usually helps a lot!

  • Hi Mike, I ...

Hi Mike, I understand what you are saying. One of the things you can do is get support from your local or state Department or Agency of Children and Families. Usually they have free community services, and discussing this with a qualified person like a social worker or a therapist will help a lot.

We all need to vent and release our bottled stress. Keeping it inside is not something good because we are bound to "explode" one day and take it on the wrong people.

  • i need some sort of ...

i need some sort of therapeutic release of anger, and not just the anger i bottled up from my wife, the anger i bottled up growing up in a household where abuse was the norm and expression of negative emotion was strongly discouraged.
I'm 32 years old, raising a nearly 4 year old daughter by myself, and still having nightmares about my step-father and my mother's complacency in regards to his emotional and physical abuse of her children.
Why I'm letting this all out here, i couldnt tell you

  • A good video, ...

A good video, however I feel it would be much better if it were de-gendered. Emotional abuse is NOT limited to women being abused by men. It happans in all kinds of relationships, and to both genders. Harsh and cruel words hurt men just as much as women, men are just not 'allowed' to show the pain.
