Thanks to the discovery channel (miracle earth) and pink floyd - great gig in the sky.
For single cellular oraganisms to form you would need several different types of amino acids and what not. After the planet cooled down these acids could form the bacteria for ife to be reborn. Its complex stuff, look up the Miller-Urey experiment for more info.
By icecreamgoon [Affiliate User] 1225056143 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethis video is eerie. the music adds a sort of ironic tone to the whole thing and really stirs up emotions! this would be one sad event if it ever happened, and thats and understatement!
By perfectshot50 [Affiliate User] 1225052121 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removemy first video on this site,WOW, i thought it very cool as it is totaly possible with lots of time to start over. I wonder if humans would look the same or some new creepy evolutionary thing would kick in like extra hand, eyes in back, you know,to look out for muggers or whatever....erf.
By drumdogy 1230813666 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removei would say that's no asteroid anymore, i'd call it a dwarf planet... uh this damn thing is big...
By UFailedAgain [Affiliate User] 1225022720 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeit would not survive such a big one, when the earth's crust is melting... all the great mass extinctions in the past were created by 10km asteroids, like the dinokiller or the one in the perm...

By saturnstar718 [Affiliate User] 1225000170 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveRome? Athens? Kinda hard to tell really. I find it somewhat funny how something so old, like the building being shown at 3:56, as well as Big Ben are still.....there after that enormous firewall thing, not to mention the shock wave. I think the makers are just trying to exaggerate that there will be nothing left but some of our creations. I think this was very well made and executed. However some of the lava bit seem like they could of been done better... Sorry for the mini rant.

By icecreamgoon [Affiliate User] 1224978428 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethis hadn't happen 6 times in earths history, maybe once, when the moon was created but there was no life yet... if there would have been life it would not have survived

By UFailedAgain [Affiliate User] 1224964109 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIt would take many millions even billions of years not thousands. yes something would survive and the evolution thing would start all over again. for the seventh time?....eh...it is possible as there have been more years afforded our itty bitty solar system than there are grains of sand on the beachs of this tiny yet significant speck in the universe.cool?-cool.this i not a link
