By peterflightsim [Affiliate User] 1212668149 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveMcDonnell Douglas is gay, they have the worst safety records as an aircraft manufacturer. I am not happy that they merged with boeing, which worries me if they merged their faulty aircraft designs too. MD is always falling out of the sky. It is amazing how many MD planes are part of air crash investigation!!

You are, by your profile, a 22 year old captain of a civilian aircraft driven by British Airways?
That seems a little bit too young for me.
Insurance probably

By Imprezagtto [Affiliate User] 1210658054 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYou are very dumb. I can tell by your writing alone that you are not a captain. Do you truly think that you are believable?

By acdcguyforever [Affiliate User] 1209614563 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe fire started in the overhead section of the plane, there would be no smoke dectectors up there. Nowadays the planes are mandated to have smoke detectors in the Cockpit, Bathrooms, Passenger Cabin's, and cargo holds. Overhead electronics are not included and to save money they don't install them. Nowadays there is a law that says "if smoke is found ANYWHERE in the plane you MUST land immediatly". In the Case of SwissAir 111, even if they did head for an airport they would not have made it.
By jimmyp42002 [Affiliate User] 1209344662 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe fact of the matter is they had "protocol" to deal with, a checklist that takes 20 minutes! I hope for their sake, they changed their protocol.
By pottymouthavenger [Affiliate User] 1209223267 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewell as i said-they had 455 minutes of time, before it all became dramatic.they just flew further knowing there is a fire in cockpit, but without identifying the source of it.this is a great mistake of the crew..-..flyinbg further without knowing the source of the fire...it can always be something you dont expect.

ATC: Swissair 111 check, you are clear to land.
Totally agree with you. I'm an aircraft dispatcher at Hong Kong Int'l Airport making flight plans and calculate flight fuel for over 30 airlines. Part of my job also requires me to go into the cockpit to brief the pilots regarding weather and other stuff.
By matthew0428 [Affiliate User] 1206444027 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI have never seen a captain younger than 28 years old. You need your PPL, then with 200 hours, you can get your CPL, once you get your CPL, you can write your test to get your ATPL. However, it's a frozen ATPL, then you have to do 1500 hours to unfreeze your ATPL. That is the basic requirement to become a pilot for commercial airlines.
By matthew0428 [Affiliate User] 1206443993 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHowever, most pilots have more than those hours and they keep accumulating as they become first officers. Also, promotion is based on seniority, so a captain at age 22 is practically impossible.
By matthew0428 [Affiliate User] 1206443954 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWow! You are 22 and you are a Captain for BA?!? It's impossible to have graduated from a college or university and have built up a minimum of +2000 flight hours. Don't you know that you have to be a First Officer before a Captain. I hope you are never my Captain and stop lying about your life!
By andrewpsweet [Affiliate User] 1206217078 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveARSENIUMN666 ANDORRA doesn't even have a friggn airport... Lets be intellectually honest here ARESEIUM.... The US has the LEAST amount of accidents and fatalities WORLD WIDE for aircraft. Get an airport then start talkn.

our purpose is to protect and to lead,
the true Nation of FARTERS,
until the FART KING return.
This is why people shouldn't smoke on an airplane.
