this is for those of you who want to know exactly what is on the wedding promo cd handed out at rob and lea's wedding reception. the following text is taken from the cd booklet and track listing insert verbatim. part 02 of this text can be found in the video description for "lea salonga -- with you i'm born again -- actual audio":

MESSAGE FROM ROB & LEA

We can't remember a time when our lives weren't filled with music. We entertained our moms at the age of 2 (Rob with "Daddy Don't You Walk So Fast," and Lea with "We May Never Love Like This Again"), videotaped dance routines with family (Rob with Paul and John, and Lea with Gerard), attended voice lessons (Lea, her own; Rob, his mom's), made records (FACTOID: yes indeed, Rob cut a record, "The Puppy" with his Calvary Baptist 2nd grade class at the same time that Lea cut her debut single, "Someone's Waiting For You" ...how sweet, even this early, the two were harmoniously in tune, unlike Rob's voice in the 2nd grade), played the piano (he by ear, she by book) and just sang and sang and sang. As individuals and as a couple, we have a wonderful relationship with music. Heck, even our initial encounters involved music: we first met in front of a music hall (the Ahmanson Theatre in downtown Los Angeles) waiting to see a musical (Contact) ...we were introduced by a Broadway musical theatre diva dancer (thanks again, Chris!) ...and sang "We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off" loudly in the car on our very first date where we, among other things, sat in a very loud Key Club listening to pretty hard rock and roll (we can't describe it... it was just... really loud).

As our relationship progressed, our musical tastes grew and expanded (Rob has a greater appreciation for musical theatre, while Lea has Evanescence on permanent play in her car's CD player). On every drive, long or short, one of our mp3 players is plugged in, where hours and hours of songs of all kinds (rap, R&B, pop, rock and jazz) are played to the point that we've memorized nearly every lyric, ad lib and nuance. The speakers blast everyone from Nat King Cole to Eminem, Destiny's Child to John Mayer, Craig David, Earth Wind & Fire, Swing Out Sister, Janet Jackson, and many more. (However, Lea has refused the Deftones, but Rob has a lifetime to work on her.)

In keeping with these thoughts, we felt that the most appropriate souvenir of our special day would be a CD of some of our favorite songs... songs that we've sung in a karaoke bar or on a road trip, songs that take us back to when we first stepped into a record store and bought an album for the first time, songs that we aspire to hit the high notes of, songs that make us happy... the kind of happy that we're feeling with you.

Special thanks to the MPO and Aji Manalo for their generosity in making this recording.

Rob and Lea chose this song to sing together because first of all, Lea liked it, and suggested to Rob that they sing it. He listened to it, and realized how the song was a perfect metaphor for their relationship. Not only were the lyrics of the song meaningful for both of them at the time they chose it, but also the way the song was arranged: two voices never overlapping each other but singing the same tune, progressively coming together and ultimately ending the song with one voice singing in complete unison.

This song was an early wedding present for Lea from two of her songwriter friends from Manila, Louie Ocampo and Freddie Santos. It was specifically written with her and her wedding day in mind. Every time she would sing the song either in rehearsal or in performance, she would start crying, as it perfectly captured her every emotion at this point in her life.
