  • I think the ending ...

I think the ending would have been better with one less lawyer in the world. There is always the chance he could begat another lawyer. ~~ kill all the lawyers~ SHAKESPEAR.

  • Sure. But had no ...

Sure. But had no choice: His music was a good part of the film. And even Herrmann music arranged badly (it wasn't; Scorcese picked best man for the job) better than new score by someone else.

  • Herrmann is best ...

Herrmann is best experienced raw. Not arranged.

Scorseese, despite his reverence for his deceased friend Bernard Herrmann, felt he needed to "fix" the music for his remake in '91.
Decades earlier, Hitchcock did the same thing, thinking he could get by without Herrmann. With that, Hitch's reign on top abruptly ended.

    Coincidence? lol.

  • The best part of ...

The best part of the remake was Bob Deniro. The "everybody is guilty" story of the remake was good but I prefer the victimization of Gregory Peck and his picket-fence family.

The music was better in the original because of Bernard Herrmann.

  • when the remake ...

when the remake came to the cinemas i was 16 and impressed.but now..the film with its effects (tattos etc.)is so typical for italian midgets (especially scorseese).mitchum does not need that ,his physical presens is enough..so the original is better.
