Getting the Homebrew Channel on Any Version of the Wii (3.x - 4.1)

This is a video of the new exploit for the Wii that replaces twilight hack and works on system menu 3.X to 4.1

• For the first time, try "aad1f_v102.zip"
• If that doesn't work, continue on to "aad20_v102.zip", etc.

Short guide:
1. If your SD card has a private directory, rename it temporarily, e.g. to "privateold". Having other saved channels on the same card will screw it up. If you don't, just skip this step.
2. Download bannerbomb and right click and extract it: http://wiisixtyfour.webs.com/bannerbomb/bannerbomb.htm
Copy the Bannerbomb "private" folder to the root of your SD card.
3. Download hack mii installer: http://www.bootmii.org/download/
rename hackmii installer beta3.elf to "boot.elf" save it in the root directory of your SD card.
4. Put your SD card in your Wii and turn it on.
5. Go into Wii Options, Data Management, Channels, SD Card.
6. A message should appear asking to "load boot.dol/.elf". If it freezes or does not appear, download the next .zip file from the Bannerbomb website and start over.
7. The homebrew on your SD card will load

FAQ:

Q: Why doesn't it work on my Wii?
A: Please note that Bannerbomb does not work for everyone at this time.

Q: Why does my Wii freeze up?
A1: Make sure you're not trying to use the SD Menu on System Menu 4.0 (the little blue SD card button in the lower left).
A2: Check that you pressed the Channels button in Data Management.
A3: Try a different version of Bannerbomb. Most people should be able to use aad1f, but some might need another version.

Q: Does bannerbomb work on all versions of the Wii, not just 4.0?
A: Yes it should work on all versions.

Q: Does bannerbomb work on all regions?
A: On some regions it might not work. I am trying to figure out why this is so. But i'm sure it works on NTSC.

Q: I only get the private folder when downloading it, not the boot.dol?
A: You can use ANY boot.dol or .elf file as long as it is a valid wii application. But the hackmii installer is the recommended application. Link: http://www.bootmii.org/download/

Q: How come bannerbomb loads but then freezes after a minute or so?
A: This is a known issue that I can't reproduce. If you have the HBC installed and can get this to happen consistently, I'd appreciate it if you could contact me to debug it.

Q: When running the HackMii installer, I get the scam warning, but then it freezes/exits. What do it do?
A: This is a known problem with the HackMii installer; I'm not sure if it has anything to do with bannerbomb. Stay tuned.

Q: Why do I get something about Starcube's first application?
A: Try runnin a dol other than the one you got from Starcube.

Q: My Wii's serial number starts with LU64, is this compatible?
A: Yes.

Q: What is a "Wii executable"?
A: It is a file that ends with either ".dol" or ".elf" (no quotes).

Q: What is the root of the SD Card?
A: It is the first screen/window you see when you open the SD card with your computer.
