Capstone Microturbine Natural Gas/Propane/Diesel comparison to the Infinity Turbine Organic Rankine Cycle waste heat to power.

The Infinity Turbine by Infinity Turbine LLC is a geothermal, solar and waste heat (industrial waste heat, gas turbine waste heat, diesel engine waste heat) Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) turbine that generates electricity or via a PTO shaft horsepower for pumps, compressors and other equipment. Excess heat from the system output can be used for CHP applications, including desalination, hot water and process heat. A add-on cavitation disc can produce steam, even from low grade heat (below 100 C / 212 F).

The turbine will operate off of geothermal or low grade industrial waste heat. It will also operation from solar collector heat, as long as there is a 125 deg. F (65 deg C) heat differential between the evaporator and condenser.

The condenser may operate off of a secondary heat exchanger for CHP hot water or chiller applications. It may also be used in tandem with a air cooling tower, or ground based geothermal system.

Since the unit is skid mounted, it can be used on site or made portable by installing in a standard 20 foot ISO Ocean Shipping Container.

Available in 60hz or 50hz, this unit can be used and shipped complete anywhere in the world.

The Infinity Turbine generator size ranges from 30, 80, 250 and 500 kw per one 20-40 foot module. Additional modules may be combined for larger power outputs.

For Geothermal applications (Enhanced Geothermal System (EGS)), you may utilized oil and gas wells, or abandoned wells that reach depths to get temperatures greater than 150 deg. C. In general, you may sink a deep well anywhere in the continental USA around a depth of 15,000 ft to reach this temperature. The diameter of the well will determine the maximum power you can reach with this type of power generating system. Another example of utilizing geothermal resources is at Chena Hot Springs, in Alaska, or The Geysers in northern California, or Puna Geothermal Venture in Hawaii, or Mammoth-Pacific geothermal power plants at Casa Diablo in California.

For cement plant applications, waste heat can be used to generate power.

For large gas turbine waste heat applications such as in powerplants, mobile power, or the offshore oil drilling installations, the turbine exhaust can be captured via a hot air to thermal oil heat exchanger and then used in the organic Rankine cycle power turbine.

Gas turbine models include the following: Solar Taurus 60 Gas Turbine Mechanical Drive for Oil and Gas Industry,Solar Taurus 70 Gas Turbine Mechanical Drive for Oil and Gas Industry,Solar Mars 100 Gas Turbine Mechanical Drive for Oil and Gas Industry,Solar Titan 130 Gas Turbine Mechanical Drive for Oil and Gas Industry,Solar Saturn 20 Gas Turbine Generator Set,Solar Centaur 40 Gas Turbine Generator Set,Solar Centaur 50 Gas Turbine Generator Set,Solar Taurus 60 Gas Turbine Generator Set,Solar Taurus 60 Gas Turbine ,Solar Taurus 65 Gas Turbine Generator Set,Solar Taurus 70 Gas Turbine Generator Set,Solar Mars 90 Gas Turbine Generator Set,Solar Mars 100 Gas Turbine Generator Set,Solar Titan 130 Gas Turbine Generator Set,Solar Titan 250 Gas Turbine Generator Set. Diesel Gen sets: Caterpillar, perkins, mitsubishi, Kohler, Yanmar, MTU.

Also the larger Rolls Royce 501 - KC5 Gas Turbine,Rolls Royce Avon - 2648 Gas Turbine,Industrial RB211 6556 Gas Turbine ,Rolls Royce Trent Gas Turbine,

If there are recip. engine generator sets (CHP), you can first use the heat to make additional power, then still use the leftover heat for CHP.

For Solar Options: Can use resource heat from parabolic trough solar, tube solar, or other means of solar heated thermal liquid.

Evaporator Exit Heat: Can be used for saltwater desalination, fresh water maker, chiller, hot water or additional process heat, such as drying and other applications (lumber dry kiln, firewood dry kiln, hardwood drykiln, greenhouse, etc.).

Condenser heat can be used for the production of secondary energy products, like hot water, chilled water or district heating, such as in radiant floor heating, or greenhouse heat.

Power Take Off: A 3,600 rpm induction or synchronous generator (50 hz or 60 hz), pump, compressor, or other shaft horsepower device can be attached.

This system may be able to access renewable (green) energy credits, as well as CO2 offset credits, which are worth as much as 25 Euro a ton.

This system is similar in function to the system at Chena Hot Springs, where a organic Rankine cycle is used to produce power from a geothermal source.

System Performance: A basic 250 kw output system will require 400 gpm of water with a temperature differential of 125 deg. F (between evaporator and condenser).

  • It's comparing and ...

It's comparing and contrasting two power generators. They both have turbines, they both produce power. You are correct - you could fit about 10 x C30's in a 20 ft. shipping container, however you can put a IT250 or IT500 in a 20 ft. shipping container, which includes the hot water heat exchanger for CHP.

  • Two totaly ...

Two totaly different things how can you compair them? Plus you could fit like 10 capstones in to a 20 foot conex and only like 1 infinity turbine
