at lake geneva with the swiss and french alps right in front of them!
Deep Purple to me were the best because of their musical skill and just of who they were,their charisma of each member.
But how ever:
one should not compare those three bands, they were each absolutely recognizable and had their own styles.

...oh goodness me-
well, first of all zappa and 'his' mothers were on the montreux jazz festival as were purple and it seems 'the mothers of invetion' 'had the best place around'-
then later during the zappa concert 'SOME STUPID with a flare gun burned the place to the ground'.
and afterwards Purple made the 'MACHINE HEAD' record in the rolling stones' mobile recording facilty right there in Montreux.
And done it in 2 weeks!!

Sorry, the best is the Ozzfest 2005.
And the Ozzman's never too old.

it's a shame that the movie didnt feature this version in the end credits roll.

Ozzy maybe too old to do a recording with the same quality, but I think this version can be digitally remastered, coz imho the 1970 ironman is the best version of all time.

dude ,try the tv threw the window i did it in a hotel in spain whaat a laugh ,check out metal evlis ,slash mickey six and cat man from kiss and of course elvis they mixed evlis with rock music like they do buring love with paranoid ,just search metal evlis trust me it will blow your mind

those old skool bands defintely new how to pary and were incredibly decadent.I also heard of john bonham riding his motorbike through a hotel aswell.
Theres also that myth of keith moon drivin a rolls in a swimmin pool.
That ozzy and bill ward took lsd everyday 4 2 years.When bill ward used 2 pass out from drinkin they used 2 play tricks on em like strippin em naked and dumpin him in a town and drive off without em,settin fire 2 em or paintin em in gold paint.

hahahahha the best thing to ever to happen to deep purple is two things frank zappa if it wasnt for him smoke on the water would of never of been wrote hence he burned down the hotel and david coverdale which he started the band whitesnake ,deep purple where good but not that good

dude you are so right ,todays music is for blokes who are guy and cant come out ,what do boybands do after a gig go to there hotel and sleep or maybe a nightclub and drink pop ,the old school music like zeppeln started the wholr throwin tvs of buildings which if you havent done do its great laugh and to add to the other thing these guys smashed up hotels and partyed long live sex drugs and rock and roll

i m the same age and i agree todays music does S**k You hear some of todays music and u think its been done before or on the other u think this sounds like S**t Really i doubt any1 is goin 2 b listenin 2 mcr or fallout boy in 38 years time.Commentin on how great they were.But i suppose i like these old bands cause i was brought up on listenin 2 this,zeppelin,the doors,the beatles,stones,lynard skynard,frank zappa, iron maiden,van halen,nirvana etc.

I agree, Amtoj. The best of the best. Nothing like the metal bands, and I do not mean the "hair bands" that came out late in the 70's. I mean Black Sabbath, Led Z., AC/DC, etc. IMHO, the next best and closest to early heavy metal were the Grunge Bands; Nirvana, Blind Melon, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam. Good stuff.
