Corvette ZR1 vs. Nissan GT-R test.
I usually would not choose the American car, but the ZR1 beat the GT-R's lap time around the nurburgring so it is a great car.
This test was done by Edmunds Insideline.

    • Who cares what Europeans think?!?

Why would you compare a $1,500,000 Bugatti (you spelled it wrong) with a $105,000 ZR1? The Bugatti should be better. Much better! Even with the huge price difference, give the ZR1 the Hennessey 1000 RWHP upgrade and at a fraction of the price the Bugatti will get out performed in everything except 0-60 and handling.

  • inline surge makes it more even.. :)

to call it a comparison between to cars is a bit stupid, One has 400hp and the other has 500hp, perhaps if the GTR had an opgrade from inline surge or something, the both would have the same amount of power, and then the only difference would be breaking..
And of course build quality should considered also.

  • I see your point. ...

I see your point. but testing cars based on "class" is not fair. A good example would be testing lets say the Honda Civic R and the Subaru Imprezza STi. Both are subcompact performance cars but there is a huge difference in power and price.

They cant be equal no matter how you look at it.

wow you have a z06 i wanted one of those!

  • exactly there ...

exactly there different prices too, i mean you get what you pay for. the GTR is better suited for a base corvette in terms of straight-line accel and a z06 in terms of braking and handeling

  • Atzap1229. Are you ...

Atzap1229. Are you suggesting that only matched cars are tested? The purpose is to test the cars in a class. I think the GTr and ZR1 are in the same class and therefore the test is meaningful for a buyer that is trying to decide which sports car to buy. These are the best cars a "workingman" might purchase other cars in the class,Viper, GT2, F430,Lambo, cost much more and are more expensive to maintain. I would love either car. My Z06 is close to these numbers, but a new "big GUN would be sweet?

  • But the GTR is made ...

But the GTR is made to be only 480 horses while the ZR was made to be at 600?

so wheres the real comparison here? they are not equal cars
