It took me a dozen viewings to get that he was interpreting "Rocket Man" filtered through the id-ego-superegodynamic: First Shatner is well-balanced, Second Shanter is uptight and Third Shatner lets himself go. Too bad he hasn't gone into the studio with his new BFF Ben Folds and recordeded a new `07 version of this.
