  • I took a trip on ...

I took a trip on The Waverly when I was a wee lad who came over the pond at the age of 9 years with his family. Ian John Johnston welter weight boxer for Glasgow Meats who was a survivor of the Clydebank Blitz was the catalyst for the trip to Scotland.
    A grand memory indeed.

Bonny Scotland is calling me to return....

  • Here in Italy on ...

Here in Italy on the famous Como's Lake the steamer "Plinio", built in 1902 and withdrawhall by the Navigation Company in 1963 is going to be scraped. It is still in good conditions because it was buyed by privates and used until today like restaurant. But now for burocratics complications the owner will be constricted to scrap it. It's incredible.

  • "Gaan doon the ...

"Gaan doon the watter" is something we have all done here in Glasgow - going down the River Clyde to Dunoon and Rothesay, Kilcreggan and the Kyles of Bute, with perhaps a jazz band and a wee dram and some sandwiches and a cup of tea - what a day out as the Clyde is a lovely river. Graeme.
