  • The Rock´n Roll ...

The Rock´n Roll circus with the origginal sound is really a lost video. The sound of the DVD version is too bad, they cut the sound of Brian´s guitar. In the documentary 25x5 you can listen the real sound in "You can´t allways get what you want"

Thank you for this info! OK, folks. Let's get to work. By the way, the version of Rock 'N Roll Circus is NOT the version I saw back in the late '70s through a private screening. That version, Brian's guitar could be heard. And, there was a different take of "No Expectations" that was better than the one on DVD.

  • I forgot, if you ...

I forgot, if you join forces and decide to also contact Southern Star Group, it's important to mention the filming date. The NME Poll..1968 with the last REAL live performance with Brian took place on May the 12th 1968 at Wembley, the Stones were also handed the price of the best R&B band of the last year by 007 Roger Moore, maybe that will inspire some guy at Southern to check it out.

  • However there is an ...

However there is an CD released of the Spencer Davis Group Sessions & Shows 1966-1968 on which the live performance of the Spencer Davis Group's gig on the NME Poll Winners Concert 1968 is. This gives hope that at least the soundtrack of NME 1968 must be out there somewhere. And maybe the Spencer Davies Group may actually have a copy of the soundtrack of the whole show in their archives. Hopefully to be continued.

Unfortunatly they don't even seem to have the decency to respond, I guess the person dealing with incoming mails has no idea what historical value this footage has and considers it so unimportant he/she just erases the message without even informing his superiors. So my plea to you is to also send them a mail, if they get flooded they'll have to respond. I did get a message from someone who worked for Southern TV who informed me he had also been searching for this for years, but in vain.

  • NME Poll Winners ...

NME Poll Winners Concert 1968 showed the Stones after being choosen by the NME readers at the beginning of '68 as the best R&B band of '67 when Satanic was high on the intern. album charts (as that one was released in dec. '67). It was filmed by Southern Television and aired on 'Time for Blackburn'. Southern TV has changed hands in 1982 into Southern Star Group. I've been sending mails around to Southern Star Group asking if this historical footage still exists.

This is one of those "lost" videos of them that I have always wanted to see. So, thanks for posting it! Now, if somebody could dig up their gig at the NME Pollwinners concert in 1968 when they played JJF and Satisfaction, I can die a happy man!
