It's a triumvirate. As long as one is alive, the others retain their power. You can't actually kill the prime evils, you can only banish them back to hell. And now that the Worldstone has been destroyed, containing them is that much more impossible. Diablo III hopefully will elaborate on that, with the war between heaven and hell.

And of course the wanderer is the hero from the first Diablo, who stabbed Diablo's soulstone into his forehead. He couldn't contain him, though...and it's debatable as to if you're actually fighting the warrior from the first Diablo game when you face Diablo in act 4 (the best act imo, the rewards are just awesome). Anyway sorry...I'm just a fanboy of an awesome game, and Starcraft 2 is literally the reason I'm upgrading my PC. Blizzard can tell a story for sure. Oh yeah, F**k Warcraft lol.

Baal torments him into leading him to his brother. Marius is a puppet of Baal. That's all he is. He basically guides the brothers together. There definitely needs to be a new Diablo game, it's infinitely cooler than this whole cartoony Warcraft bullshit.
