I loved your comment on how it would cost too much money to add things to the food, like nutrients. LOL
What a true oxymoron! Food is supposed to be nutrition, but some food processors don't care about that.

  • My wife and I ...

My wife and I manage at a Subway. Recently, Subway reformulated the wheat bread and added "whole grains". I noticed a while back that the new wheat bread contains HFCS.

What you say about the salt and fat content is true compared to a simple McDonald's burger.

A 6" Turkey meal deal (w/ chips and 21oz soda) will easily add up to over 700 calories! And that's low-balling it.

FYI: The bread of a footlong sandwich is AT LEAST 400calories.

Save yourself and pack your own lunch!

  • Um we eat this crap ...

Um we eat this crap because we are poor. Food is expensive. If you can't afford it, you live off of soft drinks. Three meals a day like you are talking about costs $5/$10 a day every day and takes an hour to prepare. Two liters of cheap soda costs you $.69, takes no preperation whatsoever, and stores forever because even bacteria won't eat it.

  • Very very good ...

Very very good video! A friend of mine who is only 19 just found that he has diabetes. The only thing that I've ever seen him drink is soda and everything I've ever seen him eat has a ton of processed sugar in it. I feel like I should have tried harder to help him stop, but at the same time almost EVERYONE that I know is pretty much the same way. Last week I saw a mother at the local park putting Pepsi in her baby's bottle... :(

  • "Subway" produce ...

"Subway" produce some of the most unhealthiest sandwiches out there. A program aired in Great Britain a few weeks back and they came out on top for high salt and fat content. A 12" sub is seriously high salt. Toxic waste, packaged to look cool & trendy.

Thank you for posting this video... corn syrup is one of the absolute worst things that a person could ever put in their body.

If you have to use a sweetener, go with something like agave, or even stevia. Or, even, just plain sugar. But never corn syrup.

Unrefined Dehydrated Cane Juice is a lot better. Molasses is a much better form of cane sugar as well. However, that is not a crystal. Also, don't forget the many other natural sweeteners. Look them up.

  • One thing many ...

One thing many people don't know about corn is that it is highly contaminated (nearly 100%) with mycotoxins, which are poisons given off by fungus and are known to be highly toxic to people. So, not only does HFCS mess you up, you're also getting a double whammy by consuming the mycotoxins. Think about it, alcohol can be made from corn, and alcohol is a mycotoxin in itself. Look it up.

After taking a nutrition and foods course I took HFCS and corn syrup and a lot of refined sugars out of my diet. Within the first week of doing this I had more energy and my cravings for sugar decreased significantly, not to mention I lost weight! :) one of the best dietary changes I've ever made!
