In the USA last century, the age of consent was 10 years old.

mgsgtbvani - Indeed, it was not the same back then, that is for sure. But a marriage between a 50+ yr old and a 9 yr old was definitely not the norm even back then. Now, think about someone who is supposed to lead humanity and who is influenced by an almighty power, should he do something like that? No matter how you paint it, a 9 yr old is still a girl and looks like a child, that is why he has been labeled a pedophile.
