I'm not sure if we are listening to same clip or if there is some noise disturbance where you are listening, but as far as I can tell she is absolutely together with the oboe throughout the entire aria. I say Bravo to an astonishing vocal performance in combination with convincing acting.

I find it quite tasteless. What's the reason to take cocaine in such an aria? To sing coloratura better? At the end it does not really work, as the singer is never together with the oboe!

An absolutely wonderfully crazy Nerone. It takes some formidable talent to be able to sing this obnoxiously difficult aria while doing all these crazy things. And she looks 100% male, too. Brava Malena!

Ernman is an extremely funloving, witty, sharptongued, carsimatic beautiful woman, outrageously entertaining, an excellent jazzsinger and certainly a great mezzo with a splendid sense of humour, an agility to die for and drop dead gorgeous ! Viva Malena !!

hmmm... i mean Jaroussky is certainly not a good coloratura singer, but i think this is waht the high voices like sopranos make saound good. but of course castratos (or better: counertenors) cant do it or if not as good

and the music is awesome. i love the beginning, especially the part from 0:12 till 0:30

FANTASTIC! Doing all that crazy act while singing this crazy difficult aria! Her technique is flawless, and her acting so convincing.

I had the opportunity of seeing this production at the ENO in London and it was a great Experience.

j'avais jamais fait gaffe, mais dans la section B, on dirait Peter Gallagher avec une perruque platine... weird.

aaaargh —toujours aussi ébourriffant, même six ans après. Une vraie petite bombe que cet air. Vive Haendel, vive McVicar, vive Jacobs... et surtout vive Malena, évidemment!
