  • How about for a ...

How about for a change the Jodha-Akbar romantics realise what a Rajput has to say. Akbar was not great; he was a murdering bully; he killed 30,000 civilians after the Rajput women and children had committed ritual suicide. He cut off the heads and displayed them on poles in his empire. How about that. Now tell me that this fact about Akbar is mentioned in your F**k off NCERT and CBSE school books!

I was one of the first who was happy when Dev D came out, because he challenged the mindless crap Bollywood idolises. I hated Devdas; I never watched it; the idea of it repulsed me. It is not in may nature to like such films. But Dev D presented a good picture. But my point is why not make a film on the greatness of the Rajputs, so people at least realise what they did instead of harping about a damn F**king "gaon" and its damn " cruel "thakur". The way cinema has always worked is this theme.

anurag kashyap is a rajput too.. his family took on the kashyap surname during the emergency. This has all the things you are talking about and is complete fiction but a metaphor for india.

  • It may be; but I ...

It may be; but I don't believe this portrayal is accurate. I mean seriously! This is more of a story exploring emotional themes. This isn't fact. It is just hilarious. If this wasn't Anurag kashyap, I would have said this is another one of the retarded sick fantasies that Indian cinema churns out.

  • That is because ...

That is because true heroism can never be replicated by politicians. Can politicians ever match a Shivaji, Guru Teg Bahadur, or an Amar Singh Rathore. No; so we never have big movies on them. However, the presentation of Akbar in movies astounds me. And when people ask me I tell them that Akbar killed 30,000 innocent man, women and children once Chittor was conquered. I ask them "Don't you know this." And they say they genuinely don't know.

  • No ProrkyParth,the ...

No ProrkyParth, the contradiction is a Disney land with a castle. The castle in a democracy. It is the peoples fascination with kings, warriors, princesses. Take the story of Rani Lakshmi Bai. It has more emotion and displays the nobility of one woman that a thousand politicians can never match. it is the story of true heroes that fascinates us. But where has the aim of Indian cinema been: not on this heroism that is a fact, but on the proverbial 'thakur'. Why I ask you?
