Boiling Water in a Plastic Bottle

can you redo this video but next time fill the bottle to the brim and put the cap on it that is the way it works best. it needs to be airtight with no air in the bottle.

it does work but id never do it, simply cuase when u heat plastic up you release its chemicals,, and it messes up your body over the long run,, with your hormones. But im sure in a once in a lifetime thing would be alright, but id prefer to use metal cup or something other than plastic. alot of chemicals and toxins will be released on the plastic bottle,,, not good.

I would suggest you do this over a tall coal bed rather than an active flame fire to lap at the bottle. As has been said I would be worried about chemicals from the plastic getting in the water. Good experiment though and good vid. 4 stars

That would be true, but better than getting sick. At least it was fun to do. Any day you can make a fire and do something with it is a good day.

We know about all the nasty stuff released from the bottle, but if its that or get super sick from bad water, I will take the chemicals from the bottle. I think you would have a better chance to survive the chemicals once or twice than the parasites in dirty water.

I agree. This was more to see if it could be done, as we had not done it before, and have some fun trying something new. We did not drink the water as we were not in a survival situation.

We will try to do a knife video in the future.

this is great for the last resort, but when you heat the plastic the carcinogens are released into the water. dont get me wrong i would do it myself if i needed to.

i notice you guys say keep you knife sharp so could you do a review on the knives you carry or carryed in the past, that would be great
