  • Exactly my point, ...

Exactly my point, our station rolls from when the pagers go off, respond to the station, gear up, get the truck ready and roll out the door on 4-5minutes, the better the response procedure the better your on scene time will be, as to the dudes standing around they should be in the truck and awaiting the driver and captain, the faster the out of station time, the less faster you have to drive to get on scene, insteed of driving like a F**kin Clown

Ok, I'll bite. What "stuff?" CO's not explosive. Looked like they were riding with a good-sized crew on the rescue. That plus EMS should be able to take care of just about anything.

Part of promoting response safety is reducing unnecessary emergency vehicles on the road.

  • His point is if ...

His point is if you're going to wander around the station like nothing's going on, why race through the streets lights and sirens. Can't make up time enroute that you lost dragging ass out of the station.

That said, I don't think a CO alarm should warrant a 2-vehicle emergency response anyway. I'm sure that heavy rescue has all the meters they'll need, don't see the point with the engine. And if there's no symptoms, NOBODY should be responding emergency.

  • Interesting ...

Interesting comments here about speed... Every fire department does things their own way and who am I to suggest they are wrong? With that said... If you aren't going to hustle in quarters -- which is as close to a controlled environment as we get -- why on earth are you going to run hot on the streets -- where we have no idea what to expect?
