I think that every guitar player is unique in there own way, Stevie Ray and Hendrix were both big on the long notes and passion in playing when for example Nuno from Extreme, Big time hair metal riffs but he also had some funk in him, just not as perfected as Jimi, Randy Rhodes who was in Black sabbath before he was killed in a plane crash was a very fast and accurate guitar player, R I P Randy Jimi and Stevie

i don't want to hear "the best guitar player" if you look at Hard Rock Cafe and the Rock and Roll hall of fame it is not just one damn guy in there...it is lots of them...they are all great and any guitarist who says "I am the best" or beleives that they are is not...every time I watch a video like Eric Clapton's Crossroads Festival all the guitarist there complement the others and say i wish i has some more of what he has...thats a a fact and the next person to disagree needs to go ask them

I think Jimi Hendrix is overrated.. He was GREAT, and he inspired a lot of great guitarists like Vaughan and Satriani, but to say that he is the best guitarist ever is too much..
There will always come new guitarists who have better equipment and better skills. Hendrix brought music to another level, but his superiority cant last forever ;)
