    I did it finally. I dug out my piston and was always careful not to ruin it by slamming, and after I saw the video I went up and slammed it really hard after lubbing it with vaseline and got a "amber" lol. It was awesome. Keep on making AMaZAZING videos, just no pressure :p

    Nice video. I bought one for like 50 dollars custom made. I tried it over and over and over and never ever got a spark. I may relube it and try some charcloth again. I use leftover and empty pellet tins for pnuematic rifles and pot a hole in the top and use old boxers and make it.

    They sell them just lie that, this one I have is unique, what he used on the show (I saw it too) is whats most common when you buy them, some even have storage in the top to keep your tinder, they cost on average $80 for wood...Do a google search for primitive fire, or fire piston...

    i want one of these! i saw one on survivor man... the one he had was wood and he smacked it with the palm of his hand, i dont think it would work with that one though considering its really thin and would hurt, the one he had has a ball on top. I wonder if i could make one out of oak?

    I already made one up myself from a old bankstick i used for fishing, this thing works pretty fine.
    Try the flint and steel method next.
