that happenned to my brother, he had a puppy who escaped when he was a year old, we searched everywhere and put up posters and called the RSPCA but couldn't find him then about a year later he sees him in a park with a family, the dog recognised my brother and ran straight over! The family had got him from the RSPCA so we were really angry with the RSPCA as he had been reported missing, but my brother let the family keep him as the kids had become very attached to him. He was really upset though
