Now that is fresh. Were any animals killed in the making of that cd? If it floats your boat more power to you but nothing new here. Anger and anxiety, there other emotions. Sounds like a thousands other bands.

  • I'd really like to ...

I'd really like to believe there is young fresh talent today that has not been dipped in the cesspool of pop culture, but I haven't seen or heard it. I'll take corny, and uncool over the drool that passes for entertainment today. Imagine, people that are thankful for things. What a weird concept. (dripping sarcasm)

jjp009 : Another funny thing about this process is when I was a kid, I hated this stuff. My parents and grandparents liked it, but I hated it. Now I look back an for some reason I love it now. WTF is THAT all about ? lol

Very well said, Dave. I was really just kidding, though. It IS funny to watch these things and wonder how anyone could have enjoyed this all the time. I know people will make fun of what we love some day as being "lame", too. And for the record, I am not cool...never have been, never will be. I was not born lucky that way.

jjp009 : There is a constant in life. You look back at those before you and see uncool or unhip. The people in this were at the top of the game when it happened. The same constant means as you get older younger kids are gonna look at you an your life and wonder how you could possibly ever have passed as bein cool.
You are doomed to live out the very scenario you complain of. Faster than you can imagine, your life will fade into the memory of your unnamed dust.

If Ernie had been in charge of this scene he would have had the table start tilting or would have put the whole scene underwater, or something else visually incredible.

I imagine that the critical people on here are younger people. I will take the more gentle and dignified past anytime. Our culture is so coarse anymore. The people on this video had real class!

  • Kind of hard to ...

Kind of hard to accept this passed as entertainment back in the day-on the other hand, Paris, Britney, etc.-THEY provide entertainment? Gimme a break. As un-PC as this clip is, well, draw your own comparisons with today's entertainment/celebs vs. what the world had just come out of -- WWII. Think about it...and no, I'm not a vet. Just someone who feels what was produced back then can't hold a candle to most of what's out there today. Not a Republican, either.

I only stumbled upon this because I recently fell in love with Edie Adams from her performance in "It's A Mad,Mad, Mad, Mad World" and I wanted to see what else of her was out there. She was absolutely a major turn on for me in that movie. Anyone else see it?

  • Keeley's "boredom" ...

Keeley's "boredom" was part of the schtick. It was intentional because Louis needed a contrast to his "wildness". She released several solo albums after the divorce that receive critical acclaim. True, she never again received the success that she had with Louis, but to be fair, Louis never hit that pinnacle again either (at least in his lifetime)

  • I think Keely's ...

I think Keely's dead pan look was intended to give contrast to Louis' enthusiastic style. After watching "Analyze This" (Louis sang the opening and closing themes), pulled out my Louis and Keely LP. On the record, Keely seemed as frenetic as Louis. They both seemed to be having a good time recording the album. Sorry that they were before my time, but enjoy the heck out of their music.

You've got to be kidding, Keely always looked so bored when she sang. Anyway, Louie Prima made her a household name. After they divorced she faded away...

  • Dinah may have been ...

Dinah may have been adored......but she was always shallow and played to the camera as if crying "Look At Me". Keely on the other hand had true talent.

It's understandable that the term "A Dinah" still resounds today when used to describe an empty dress news anchor such as Katie Couric.
