Jana Gana Mana is somewhat a praise to the British raj. All the southern states, in one word, are referred to as "Dravida" in the song, which I too initially thought to be racist. But, the song has more to do with the British perception of India and it's regional parts according to the layout of the east India Company. So obviously, there will be some quirks in the song. I don't care, it's our nation no matter what. Jai Hind.
