Well I like this version best, Rita did nothing for me. Boz give this song so much, just the right tempo & build. The voice is excellent, guys & gals, listen to the live version of this song posted. Again Beautiful ballad.

I am sorry guys, I rarely rip on a song, but I like the rita coolidge version better. This version sounds like Kermit the frog on steroids trying to sing. Thats my opinion. First minute I heard this on the Boz Scaggs cd, I skipped this track each time now. I will say however, he is still a good singer, just this is not his best song.

I bought this album many years ago and loved it, this being the best track. I havn't heard it for years and have just rediscovered it. Beautiful lyrics and song.

There have been other recordings of this (most notably by Rita Coolidge, who he wrote it for, as the story goes), but this is HIS song all the way...

I dunno, when I hear it the juxtaposition of major and minor chords sounds to me like accomplishment in the face of adversity. I think I like this better than Rita Coolidge's version (maybe because I have this album, huh?).
