  • Basically yes, the ...

Basically yes, the only thing is that voicing is telling you it wants the 13th in it. I can't think of any 13b9b5 voicings, but you could do 13b9 like this; C13b9 x32325.

    a rootless C7b9b5 could be; x7867x

  • thanks much, guy! ...

thanks much, guy! i couldnt figure it out cuz some have it, some dont, cuz right there's only 4 notes or so one strikes anyhow.

so 13th is easier since it has F in it then. just finger across and a pinky 2 frets up on the thin string. i used to muscle it as a typical 9th chord with the pinky up 2 frets. but this is easier.

ok, this one i cannot figure how to play. i have idea what it should be but cant find 1 single position.

    C13(b9)(b5) it's basically C7(b9)(b5) isn't it?

  • C13, in its ...

C13, in its entirety is; C E G Bb D F A, however, in any extended voicing you aren't expected to play all the notes. You can drop the fifth (G) you can drop the 9th (D) you can drop the 11th (F), giving you the meat of the chord; C E Bb A. You can drop any extension that isn't altered (9th, 11th) and the 5th is colorless unless altered. The root can even be dropped if you have a bass player under you.

  • yeah, some books ...

yeah, some books show Cdim and Cdim7 as the same chord but i think c eb gb for Cdim and c eb gb a for Cdim7 makes sense.

how about this one. what's C13?
does it have F in it or not?

  • C dim is just the ...

C dim is just the basic triad; C Eb Gb, Cdim7 has another m3 stacked on top.

Cdim6 and Cdim9 aren't even common chords- I've never seen one.
