The stomach produces very important hormones, some help absorb vitamins (B12) and otehr very important nutrients hence you cantt just leave it there, thats why they connect it to the distal jejunum so you dont lose em. The rest of the stomach decreases in size but keeps on secreting said substances.

I have heard that the mini gastric bypass(MGB)is less of a health risk, less painful, quicker recovery, plus more overall benefits than the Roux-en-y including costs. Any thoughts!
